The Broward Bridges 2013 Chaplaincy Breakfast was held on April 27th at The Forum in Pompano Beach. Chaplains Twichell and Tillman planned and coordinated this event attended by many local volunteers and community groups such as BSO, local churches, and re-entry groups.  All the presenters aided in the unfolding of the heartbeat and mission focus of the chaplaincy, and in addition, Senior Vice President Fr. Charles Brown read a special welcome from BOA's president, Ms. Lori Constantino-Brown.  The event closed with an appeal from Dr. Tom Beckner, Director of Chaplaincy Services, challenging the community to partner with BOA Chaplaincy efforts.

The 2013 Spring Banquet for the Orlando Bridge was held on May 7 at the Tanner Hall in Winter Garden.  It was a beautiful and well-attended event.  Dinner was prepared by the Bridge’s own Chef Mike, with our culinary program clients carving the meat and serving at the buffet line.  There was both a silent auction and a raffle that offered great prizes. Dr. Thomas Beckner, Director of Chaplaincy Services, delivered the keynote address, stressing the role chaplains play both inside the institution and within the community.  In addition, two Bridges alumni shared about how their experiences at the Bridge positively impacted their lives.

The inaugural Bradenton Chaplaincy breakfast was held April 19th at the Renaissance on Ninth, Bradenton.  Keynote speaker was Ms. Lori Costantino-Brown, president of Bridges of America, who shared about the history and vision of the agency.  Chaplain Sharon Burke also presented on the topic of "Redefining Family”, and a Bridges alumni talked about her successful reentry and reunification with her children.  It was a  blessing to have new churches, agencies, and individuals attend and support the Chaplaincy program at The Bradenton Bridge.

The inaugural Jacksonville Bridge Chaplaincy Luncheon, held on April 20th at the Jacksonville Zoological Gardens was well attended and enjoyed by all.  Dr. Michael Hallett of the University of North Florida was the keynote speaker, and alumni from the Bridge also gave testimonies. We are so thankful for all of our volunteers and supporters who attended this event.
